Hampshire-based Drain Doctor Plumbing, which covers Southampton and Portsmouth, has won a national trophy - for the second year running.
The business has crowned a successful year by being presented with the Franchise of the Year award at Drain Doctor's annual awards ceremony in Harrogate, Yorkshire. The company won the same award at last year's annual convention.

Group founder and chairman Freddie Mitman presented Hampshire franchise owners Allan and Jacqui Rook with their trophy at a gala awards night.
He said: "Allan and Jacqui have demonstrated the strength of the Drain Doctor system in delighting customers with first-class plumbing and drainage services and they are now reaping the rewards. To win the Franchisee of the Year award in two successive years is a testament to their success."

The award is given to those franchisees that have generated outstanding turnover related to the population of the area they serve.

Launched in the United Kingdom in 1993, Drain Doctor Plumbing has quickly grown to become the country's largest emergency plumbing and drain repair service. It now provides a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year service in every part of the country with each franchise run as an independent business.
The central principle is to deliver dazzling levels of service in a market plagued by cowboy operators who are overcharging customers for shoddy workmanship.

Last year the Hampshire Drain Doctor business produced a free expert guide to help members of the public ensure they choose a professional plumber for jobs around the home. Allan Rook put together the guide, packed with hints and tips as well as the tricks of the trade, to help people choose a plumber that will do a professional and cost effective job. He said: "Choosing a plumber that is reputable and honest can be a bit tricky when faced with so many to choose from. By following this guide people will have a much better understanding of what to look for in a plumber. This could save them a lot of hassle and money."

New ideas such as the guide helped the Rooks to win their second Franchisee of the Year award but Allan puts the success primarily down to teamwork. He said:
"The Franchisee of the Year award is recognition of initiatives such as the guide -but, more importantly, it recognises the work that goes into the day-to-day business of providing people with a dazzling plumbing and drainage service. Drain Doctor Plumbing rewards dedication, enthusiasm and customer care and we are delighted to have picked up this award."

The Rooks have now been Drain Doctor franchisees for more than ten years and recently signed a new agreement to maintain their franchise area for another ten years.
Allan said: "Drain Doctor is going from strength to strength and we are continuing to build the business for the future."
